Chairperson

Lingum is a clinical psychologist and organizational consultant in private practice with 27 years- experience, based in Durban. Over the years he has been actively involved in leadership positions in various community, and sport organizations; and has served as general secretary and president of the South African Society for Clinical Psychology and as council member of the Psychological Society of South Africa. His astute leadership qualities has led to him serving on the board of Gopaul Group Holdings & CAPEAFRICA as the chairperson of both boards. One of his driving forces is the use of his skill and those of the companies to improve the lives of South Africans and citizens of Africa.

Yats Gopaul is a serial entrepreneur having been in business since 2002. He has founded YGC Consulting and since led the way to the founding of Gopaul Group Holdings, Gopaul Renewable Engineering works and Gopaul Foods. He currently serves as the CEO of CAPEAFRICA and Gopaul Group Holdings and as director and shareholder in over 10 companies. He is a certified ISO 9001 auditor and has been trained in ISO 22000, project management. He has studied his MBA at USB, Project Management at CPUT, Mech Engineering at ML Sultan (Now DUT), Textile Technology at Natal Technikon (Now DUT) and done various other short courses. He has served as chair of the SAWEA transport and logistics committee during the round 1 of REIPPPP of SA. He has also spoken at various conferences and seminars with particular emphasis on sustainably energising rural Africa through renewable energy.

Ms Zulu, an admitted attorney since 2009 and currently serves as a Due Diligence Manager to the Technical Investment Support at Ithala Development Finance Committee. She has served as an advisor in her legal capacity to various organizations, government institutions and unions. Adding to he vast and diversified legal, business and legal experience, Ms Zulu has continually empowered herself through her personal development. She has successfully completed certificates in Banking and Risk Management, Credit Management, Prospecting & Mining Law and is completing her BCom in Financial Accounting at UNISA. She has been active in Labour Law, Environmental Law, Commercial, Civil & Criminal Litigation. Ms Zulu brings to the CAPEAFRICA a wealth of knowledge, experience, leadership qualities and corporate governance.

Prenevan Moodley

Chief Engineer

Prenevan Moodley is registered as a Professional Engineer (PrEng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), and holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours Degree) in Electrical Engineering. Prenevan has 13 years’ experience in the Energy and Renewable Energy Sector, including participating in projects from the commencement of Bid Window 1 of the REIPPP Programme. Within his specialities is the design and installation of high voltage and medium voltage installations including sub-stations. At Cape Africa, Prenevan is a Director, with a strong focus within the Engineering Division.

Johan is a people’s person with an extensive service within the ministry at Dutch Reformed Church. His passion lies in many areas, but most importantly in playing an active role in the improvement of lives of people. His experience, training and qualifications span from working at mines, engineering companies, being a life coach within companies and focusing on development. His qualifications are in B Th Degree in Theology, M Th in African Cultures, M Th Degree in Life Coaching and Pastoral Therapy. He is an integral part of both the CAPEAFRICA team and the YGC Consulting Team.

Diveshan Gopaul

Diveshan Gopaul

Wind & Solar Technician

Diveshan started his career in information technology and since 2012 joined CAPEAFRICA in wind turbine installation. He managed the electromechanical installation of the Klipheuwel Wind Farm. He has since done various online studies in wind studies, wind farm modelling and design and installation of solar PV systems. He currently heads up the technical division at CAPEAFRICA with respect to wind studies, wind farm design and modelling, CFD modelling and the met mast installation programs. He obtained a diploma in IT studies in early 2010. He is also a trained practitioner in ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and Health and Safety with respect to wind farm, met masts and solar installations.

Devi Pillay

Ms Devi Pillay

Head: Admin & Human Resources

Devi Pillay joined the Cape Africa team amidst the Covid19 pandemic, in July 2020. Her current role is as Head: Admin & Human Resources, and she also oversees the group’s financial reporting.

Devi has over 20 years experience in operations and systems management in the shipping industry, through various roles held, including her last role as Business Unit Manager at Grindrod. She possesses strong leadership skills together with effective decision making and problem-solving capabilities. A hands-on individual that is resilient and decisive.

We are a vibrant company with vision and integrity, committed to conduct business in a fair and honourable manner.

We aim at maximising resources to deliver projects exceeding client’s expectations, to which end we have implemented in various projects throughout Africa.
